4. Telemedicine is empowering the basic medical scenario through wireless technologies. Telemedicine has seen a tremendous growth in the recent years in countries like UK, U.S.A, Greece, Japan, Canada, Germany and now in developing countries like India where around 650 million people live in rural areas. Apollo’s introduction of telemedicine into India would not only provide employment to more people but it will definitely enhance the medical facilities provided.

6. The Indian healthcare market is an important laboratory for telemedicine because it provides the outreach to rural Indians that is so sorely needed. Because of the investment of technology and knowhow by both the government and private sector hospitals, rural outreach is being expanded. The world should watch what is being done in India in the area of telemedicine. It is truly remarkable. Indians are harnessing the synergy between IT and medical applications and doing so at negligible costs.
